Luminogenic CYP assays use prosubstrates for the light-generating reaction of firefly luciferase. CYPs convert the prosubstrates to
an active luciferin, which produces light in a second reaction with luciferase. The amount of light generated is proportional to the
amount of luciferin produced by the CYP and, therefore, to CYP enzyme activity.
