Highest Inter-Database Compatibility and Discrimination
The PowerPlex® Fusion 6C System provides all of the materials needed for co-amplification and fluorescent detection of 27 loci, including the CODIS core loci and European Standard Set (ESS) loci, and Amelogenin and DYS391 for gender determination. The Penta D, Penta E, TPOX, D22S1045 and SE33 loci are also included. Finally, two rapidly mutating Y-STR loci, DYS570 and DYS576, are included in the multiplex. This comprehensive set supports compatibility with present databases across multiple regions and encompasses an expanded set of loci to address future growth. The PowerPlex® Fusion 6C System delivers more information and high success rates from demanding forensic, paternity and relationship-testing cases.

High Discriminatory Power
The Probability of Identity value achieved with the PowerPlex® Fusion loci set is exceptional. By combining US CODIS and ESS loci, the system offers significant gains in discriminatory power and helps ensure fewer adventitious matches are obtained.
A probability of identity value (PI) is defined as the probability that two individuals selected at random will have an identical genotype at the tested locus.

The PowerPlex® Fusion 6C System can successfully meet the challenges of inhibitor-laden samples, increasing your success rate and minimizing the need to re-amplify samples.
Direct-Amplification Compatibility for Most Sample Types
The PowerPlex® Fusion 6C System enables direct amplification with 12.5μl reactions from numerous sample types, including FTA® card punches, pretreated nonFTA cards (data not shown) and commonly used swabs. Laboratories can streamline their workflow while stretching their budget.

A buccal swab was pretreated with SwabSolution™ Reagent as recommended in the SwabSolution™ Kit Technical Manual. Following incubation, 2μl of extract was added to the PCR amplification mix using the recommended protocol for 12.5μl reactions.

The 5X AmpSolution™ Reagent, SwabSolution™ Kit and PunchSolution™ Kit allow fast and simple processing of swabs and punches for analysis with various PowerPlex® Systems, including the PowerPlex® 21, 18D, 16HS, ESX, ESI, CS7 and Y23 Systems. These products are intended for preparation of single-source reference, database and paternity samples where sample purification is unnecessary.
